Solsken is a sustainable, modular solution to utilising outdoor space for dining that is as comfortable and as atmospheric as indoor dining. The product is a modular, buildable booth seat, that you can build up from barriers for flexible seating, or create a full back to back booth seat. Unique elements of the product are in the construction. Laser cut from sheet aluminium, the product uses all parts of the sheet, so no wastage, is lightweight and is folded into configuration, negating the need for welding or time consuming labour.

Founders Stef and Aaron approached me to create the brand identity for their product. The brief was to create an identity that was bright, fun and reflects the brand name, which is Swedish for 'sunshine’. They also wanted a logo that symbolised the modular nature of the product.

In response I created a primary logo with various modular formats that could be stacked and folded in various ways. Additionally, a fun, scandinavian-inspired icon visually represented the ‘sunny’ aspects of the brand, as well as indicates the ability to fold and pack down the product. A bright colour palette and friendly typography rounds off the brand identity nicely. A happy, bright tone of voice that lends from famous musical lyrics evokes a sentiment of spending a summer afternoon sharing a good meal with great friends.
